Frequently Asked Questions
Quick Answers to Your Questions
How long does testing typically last?
A full psychoeducational evaluation usually takes 4–6 hours. For younger children, sessions are often shorter. To ensure the most accurate results, testing is typically split into two morning sessions, allowing children to stay focused and perform at their best.
How should I prepare my child for testing?
Keep preparation simple and reassuring. A child does not need to “study” or practice beforehand. The best support parents can give is helping their child arrive rested and comfortable.
Tips for preparation:
- Encourage a good night’s sleep before testing.
- Pack a small snack and drink for breaks.
- Dress comfortably for a relaxed testing experience.
Children are welcome to bring a comfort item if it helps them feel at ease.
When should I expect testing results?
A feedback session is scheduled approximately two weeks after testing is complete. This meeting typically lasts about 90 minutes and gives parents an opportunity to hear results in plain, understandable language.
You will also receive a comprehensive written report with findings and practical recommendations for home, school, and future planning.
